Dr. Doug is a second-generation dentist who quite literally grew up in the practice. After school, he and his sister would walk over to the office to watch their father, Dr. D.O. Baxter, care for patients with kindness, patience, and a genuine interest in their lives. Those early days shaped the way he practices today.
To him, dentistry should be done with patients—not to them. He takes the time to listen, explain, and partner with you so you always feel informed, cared for, and at ease. His favorite part of what he does is building real relationships and caring for the people who make this community home.
As a third-generation dentist, Dr. John grew up watching his father and aunts care for the people of Winder like family—and he knew early on that he wanted to do the same. After dental school and advanced residency training, he returned home with his wife and son to continue the Baxter legacy.
Dr. John believes great dentistry starts with listening first. He takes time to understand your concerns, explain your options in plain language, and work with you toward a healthy life and a confident smile. Most of all, he loves helping patients feel seen, supported, and truly at ease.
